Ciao tutti è buon mercoledì!

Welcome to What I Wore Wednesday with The Pleated Poppy.

DSC_8910 Our last look of the month is the most simple, the most wearable, the most comfortable…generally just ‘the most!’ Keep your sweater and white skinnies on (from Look 1) but substitute the heels for a killer flat boot and add an eye-catching scarf.

Ensembles like this one tend to run on repeat throughout my winter days. The desire to abandon my leggings/sweatshirt/Uggs uniform for an en-trend look with style and functionality is what led me down the path you see here today. And what a beautiful path it is.

When Brian and I were in Florence several years ago, we were walking back to our hotel when we passed a window boasting tall suede boots in every color of the rainbow; I did a doubletake.  The brighly colored display was enough to catch an eye, let alone the exquisite craftsmanship and perfect style. I made a mental note to visit the next day. The little shop where Via Roma and Via dei Tisinghi intersect. Long story short, I walked out with a pair. This pair. Grazie amorè.

Is it not amazing what a fantastic pair of boots can do for an outfit? The slight wedge heel. The tell-tale stitching. The gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous suede. Everything comes together in the form of one show-stopping pair of boots that make our casual all white ensemble DYNAMITE!

trioYou can review the previous looks of our Style Wheel Big Deal this month by clicking Look 1 and Look 2. All three of these ensembles have been fun experiments with throwing that no-white rule to the wind…or the snow…whichever you prefer.

Do you have a favorite?

-ciao for now-
