Happy almost 4th everyone! Before I start my post, just wanted to ask if each of you would say a little prayer for my father today. He is undergoing open heart surgery beginning at 7:30 AM and the surgery should last 3-4 hours. I’ll post on my Facebook page when surgery is over. Thank you for all the sweet words so many of you have been texting and emailing me. So appreciate your support!
For tomorrow’s 4th of July festivities, we will be taking turns visiting Daddy in the hospital, but also do our best to create a day of togetherness, celebrating our family and freedom. Swimming and a brisket are both in the plans, as are some Red, White and Navy fashion.
Like I told you yesterday Navy and White are my favorite color pairing this month…so much so it is my Style Wheel Big Deal! Everyone needs to embrace these two colors this month, and there is no more perfect a time than July 4th Weekend. Dawning the colors of our nation’s flag on Independence Day is holiday dressing at its finest, and I do not have the slightest qualms about appearing the least bit corny–especially with these three colors!
This Palm Tree top from West and Lou is a fun, flirty addition to my Summer wardrobe. I love anything related to Palm Trees, so when I saw this palm motif (in Navy and White no less!) naturally I had to make it mine. These ripped white skinny jeans are high wasted–which is perfect when you are 32 1/2 and attempting to wear a crop top–stretchy and perfectly comfortable. When my old favorite white skinnies finally ripped a whole in the back pocket, I was thrilled to find such an excellent replacement. These red espadrille wedges became mine back in the Spring–remember when I wore them with my graphic print dress??–and love they are still available in so many colors!!
Adding a pop of red to our favorite color duo is so simple, there is no reason to not embrace this trend, or this holiday!
