Happy October to all of you!!
I have to tell you I am very excited about this month for many reasons…the first being that my article for Allen Image Magazine is published in the October issue!! In this article I discuss two of my favorite fall trends: large dark flowers and the color I almost always shy away from, mustard. The magazine article shows three different looks wearing the same floral and mustard top, but stay tuned to the blog when I delve deeper into the trend with fashion week insight and tons more pictures shot by the fantastic Corrie Barto.
If you aren’t local to DFW and can’t get your hands on a copy, you can view it online by clicking here.
Pink-tober is here, and of course Stella and Dot has several beautiful pieces of jewelry that will benefit Bright Pink, an organization focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. If you find yourself shopping for jewelry anyway this month, why not chose something that supports a very worthy cause!

The Witch’s Brunch is coming up this weekend!!!! For those of you new to the blog, I host a fall brunch for all of my fabulous witch friends every October.
Dress up. Catch up. Drink up. 🙂
Next Monday I’ll post pictures of all my witch-y tablescapes in hopes it will inspire you to get all you favorite witches together for brunch! (Note: This year I have felt inspired by Dia de los Muertos and brought that to the brunch. I’m sooo excited!!!)
My verse for October is James 1:5
I LOVE this verse. Can I repeat? I love it!! Isn’t it reassuring that the Lord is always willing to provide wisdom? Perhaps he says no to a new job, new house or maybe even to end an illness; but he will always provide wisdom on how to handle every obstacle we encounter.
The other night James told me he didn’t want to pray about something because he doesn’t hear the Lord answer. He said it was frustrating. Can you not totally relate??? I once heard Rich Wilkerson Jr. say when the Lord speaks to him, it isn’t a big ‘Mufasa voice’ coming out of the sky. It is a slight nudging in the same direction over and over. So many times I don’t hear the Lord until after the fact; and when I, like James, put forth a request to the Lord and he doesn’t immediately answer in a clear, concise voice that leaves nothing to the imagination, I get irritated.
I can understand James’s hesitation and frustration so well, which is why his verse brings me comfort. I know he will always provide whatever wisdom I need, which is exactly how I’ve encouraged James not to give up his prayers.
Have a wonderful October, friends.
