Hello to you on this first Friday of 2017.

I am linking up with my friend Erika to bring you my favorites from this past week.

first favorite:

Last week when I was in South Padre with my family, I was able to see one of my best friends from college who lives in San Diego with her husband and little girl.

Christina is the talent behind the “Every Little Thing She Does” blog, and before that she ran a cooking school in San Diego called HipCooks. We have lots in common as Kappas, Horned Frogs, cooks and bloggers.

It was so so so so so good to see here and visit in the Texas sunshine. Christina is my first favorite this week.

second favorite:

Allen Image article

My newest article for Allen Image magazine is in the January issue! I loved shooting this with Corrie Barto back in November and creating three effortless, wearable looks with one sweater. Make sure you pick up your copy today–I’m on pages 30-32!

third favorite:

We officially have winter weather in North Texas (well, at least we do this week) which makes me want to make warm meals in a crockpot. Here are a few of my favorites. Stay tuned on Monday for a new one–>White Chicken Chili!

Spicy Pulled Pork Sliders

No Fuss Chicken Spaghetti

Spicy Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

fourth favorite:

I know I know suede pumps aren’t exactly very wearable this time of year, but y’all these are exactly what we need to brighten up our winter wardrobe a tad. So maybe don’t wear them out if there is rain or snow in the forecast. But on those crisp, sunny days when you can’t help but smile from the vitamin D, throw on these happy shoes with leggings and an oversized sweater.

fifth favorite:

I know this is kind of odd, but this week one of my favorites is my hair stylist: Anne Heck. Honestly, I LOVE coming to see her every 6 weeks, not only because she is so talented but she is kind and funny and easy to talk to. I always feel overwhelmed when she asks “So what are we going to do today?” Usually I just tell her to decide and it always looks awesome. She even gave me a 30 minute lesson on how to style my hair after my first appointment. I went home and couldn’t do it the same way she did…turns out I was holding my curling iron incorrectly.┬áIf anyone is looking for a new stylist, you should give Anne a call at The Style House in Frisco. She is the bomb.
